International shipping update

I am no longer able to ship orders to the 27 countries of the European Union.

Countries I can no longer ship to

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

This is not about the products, and it is not a ban on the gear itself. It is about new packaging rules that apply when a small U.S. shop ships a packaged order directly to a customer in those countries.

What this means for you

•  I can still ship to most other countries I already serve.

•  If your delivery address is in one of the 27 countries above, I cannot complete the order.

•  Orders already delivered are not affected.

•  If you are in the EU and still want something from the shop, the practical option is an address outside those 27 countries, or a reseller who can legally handle EU delivery.

Why I have to stop

•  EU packaging rules now apply to direct shipments from a U.S. shop to an end customer, including the product box and the shipping mailer.

•  Each destination country can require its own packaging registration, reporting, and fees.

•  In countries where I have no business location, the rules also call for a local authorized representative.

•  There is required paperwork for the packaging itself (identification on the pack and conformity documentation).

•  For a small, handmade shop, that setup is per country. The cost and admin do not work for occasional individual orders.

•  I would rather close EU shipping than ship without being set up correctly, or raise prices across the board to cover it.
